The Basics

Welcome to MyVillage! We’re so glad you’re here. These Terms of Service explain how our app works, what we expect from each other, and how we keep this community safe and supportive for all parents.

The Basics Who We Are: MyVillage is an AI-powered parenting support app designed to help parents like us navigate the beautiful chaos of raising kids.

Who Can Use MyVillage: Our app is designed for parents and caregivers who are 18 years or older. By using MyVillage, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

Your Agreement: By downloading, accessing, or using MyVillage, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree with any part of these terms, please don’t use our app.

What MyVillage Offers Luna & Our AI Specialists: Our AI assistant Luna and her specialist team provide personalized parenting advice, meal plans, sleep support, and guidance on topics like neurodivergence, ADHD, and more. Luna learns about your family to provide increasingly personalized support.

Free vs. Premium Features:

  • Free: Access to one specialist for everyday parenting questions
  • Premium: Full access to all specialists, custom family plans, deep personalization, and enhanced support features

Payment: Premium subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You can cancel anytime through your account settings.

Important Health & Safety Information

Not Medical Advice: Luna and our specialists provide general parenting information and support—NOT medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. We are not healthcare providers, and our suggestions should never replace professional medical care.

AI Limitations: Luna is powered by artificial intelligence, which means:

  • She can make mistakes
  • Her responses are based on general information, not professional medical knowledge
  • She cannot diagnose conditions or provide medical treatment recommendations
  • Always consult healthcare professionals for medical concerns

Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for:

  • All decisions you make based on information from MyVillage
  • Seeking appropriate professional help when needed
  • Using our app safely and appropriately

Emergency Situations:

If you’re experiencing a medical emergency or mental health crisis, contact emergency services immediately. MyVillage is not equipped to handle emergency situations.

Your Privacy & Data What We Collect:

We collect information you provide during onboarding (children’s ages, dietary needs, etc.) and your interactions with Luna to personalize your experience.

How We Use It: We use your information to:

  • Provide personalized parenting support
  • Improve Luna’s responses for your family
  • Process payments (through Stripe)
  • Send occasional updates (through Aweber, if you opt in)

What We Don’t Do: We will never sell your personal information to third parties. Your family’s information stays private and is used solely to improve your MyVillage experience.

Data Storage: Your information is securely stored using Firebase Firestore and Google Cloud services.

Community Guidelines Respectful Use: While we no longer have public forums, we expect all interactions with Luna and our platform to be respectful and appropriate.

Prohibited Activities: You may not:

  • Share harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content
  • Attempt to break or misuse our AI systems
  • Share your account access with others
  • Use the app for any commercial purposes without permission

Third-Party Services

We work with trusted partners to provide MyVillage’s features:

  • Stripe for secure payment processing
  • RevenueCat for secure payment processing
  • Aweber for email communications (if you opt in)
  • HostPapa and other hosting services
  • AI tools for app functionality
  • Google Play Store (where our app is accessible for download)
  • Apple Store (where our app is accessible for download)

These services have their own terms and privacy policies, which you should review. More apps may be added for ease of use and new features.

Comprehensive Liability Protection Complete Limitation of Liability:

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyVillage App, Luna (our AI system), and all creators, founders, employees, contractors, and affiliates are not liable for any damages, losses, or claims arising from:

  • Your use of the MyVillage app or any information provided
  • Any decisions you make based on our content or Luna’s responses
  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Personal injury or property damage
  • Issues arising from third-party services we integrate with
  • Any technical failures, interruptions, or security breaches

Use at Your Own Risk:

MyVillage and all its components (including Luna) are provided “as is” without any warranties of any kind. We make no representations or warranties about:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information
  • Luna’s responses or AI-generated content
  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Specific outcomes from using our advice
  • Fitness for any particular purpose

Maximum Liability Cap:

Our total liability to you for all claims, regardless of the cause of action, will not exceed the amount you’ve paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification:

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MyVillage App, Luna, and all associated parties from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of our app or violation of these terms.

Changes & Updates App Updates:

We’re constantly improving MyVillage. We may add new features, modify existing ones, or change how the app works.

Terms Updates:

We may update these Terms of Service occasionally. We’ll notify you of significant changes through the app or email. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.

Service Changes:

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features, though we’ll do our best to give you notice of major changes.

Account & Cancellation Your Account:

You’re responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity under your account.

Cancellation:

You can cancel your Premium subscription anytime through your account settings. You’ll retain access until the end of your current billing period.

Account Termination: We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, though we’d much rather work things out together.

Legal Stuff Governing Law: These terms are governed by Canadian law, specifically the laws of Ontario.

Dispute Resolution: We hope we never have disagreements, but if we do, let’s try to resolve them through friendly discussion first. For formal disputes, Canadian courts will have jurisdiction.

Severability: If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

Entire Agreement:

These Terms of Service constitute the complete agreement between you and MyVillage regarding your use of our app.
