Why We Built MyVillage
MyVillage didn’t start with a business plan. It started with two burnt-out moms who refused to keep drowning in the mental load.
They were living the same reality so many parents know too well: the invisible labor of remembering picture day, tracking doctor’s appointments, Googling “why won’t my toddler sleep” at 2am. It was relentless. And when they looked for tools to help? They found parenting forums that felt overwhelming, apps designed only for moms, and chatbots that forgot everything they shared.
So they built something better.

Meet the Founders
Katrina – Co-Founder & Lead Developer
Katrina is a professional video editor and mom to twin girls. She’s the technical brain behind MyVillage, building the app using AI tools while learning how AI is transforming creative industries. When she’s not coding or editing videos, she’s navigating the beautiful chaos of raising twins and voice-noting reminders on her drive to preschool.
Vanessa – Co-Founder & Marketing Strategist
Vanessa is an online business strategist and mom to two boys. She handles all the marketing, brand voice, and community strategy for MyVillage. Since 2013, she’s helped online businesses scale through strategic marketing, sales funnels, and customer retention systems — with clients generating over $1M in revenue. She’s passionate about creating tools that give parents their time and sanity back. Her favourite way to use MyVillage? Voice-noting her brain dump while walking home from dropping off her youngest at daycare.

People say “it takes a village to raise a family,” but the truth is: the village doesn’t exist anymore. Families are scattered across cities and countries. Friends have kids at different ages. There’s crushing pressure to be the perfect parent, and almost no practical support.
